Right, no BS – just straight to the point. If you’re reading this, then an airline has probably not refunded you yet. I booked a flight in February through a certain travel company, but it got cancelled by the airline. In December, I finally received my refund from the travel company. Here are the steps I took to get my money back if you are personally wanting to speed up the process.
Contents:
Step 1:
Contact them. I don’t recommend contacting them through the phone as it will cost quite a bit. Instead, send them a tweet on Twitter or use their live chat button on their website or app. Save screenshots of every time you contact them if this doesn’t work. They may keep sending the same automated message to you, so I’d suggest following the next steps if this is the case. Remember to be as polite as possible – there’s a human on the other side.
Step 2:
Try and get a chargeback from your bank. You can only get a chargeback within 120 days of purchase – something I didn’t know. It’s still worth a try, though. You will need proof of cancellation and the flight number.
Step 3:
Contact the airline you were supposed to fly with if this doesn’t work. Tell them what’s happened and be very polite. Send the airline proof of purchase and conversations with them as proof. The airline I booked with tried to refund the money to my card, but it wasn’t possible as I booked through the travel agency. Therefore they then sent the money to Opodos card. If they do this, ask for a transaction number.
Step 4:
Send the transaction number and screenshots of the email to the company via live chat or Twitter. Say that you have proof that your money has been refunded and ask where it is. See what they say – the response they usually send may have changed.
Step 5:
If none of this works, try using the free Resolver tool. It sends an email to the company’s office, and after a few weeks, you can escalate the case.
I finally got my refund from them (minus the booking fee), which is a good thing. I recommend that you research any organisation before you book an expensive trip. Trustpilot is a good website to see other peoples reviews and opinions.
Let me know if the steps above work for you and if you need any extra help. If I helped you in any way, I’d really appreciate it if you could give my website a share/ follow on IG or Twitter/ tip/ comment or just read another article!

Omg this is amazing! Probably one of the best posts I’ve read! I could’ve used this when I was having my issues setting up my trip for Puerto Rico. Long story but wow it took a very long time to fix! And there’s a resolver took? That’s so good because a lot of the time these kind of things are a long drawn out fight to get your Refund.
