On one of my days off of work, I binged watched YouTube (don’t judge me, I’m saving money!) and one of my favourite channels is a channel called Yes Theory. They are a bunch of really cool and fun lads that live life in the now and everything you would wish to be. Some of their earliest videos are about something they have called Project 30. This is where they do 30 things out of their comfort zones in 30 days. I loved the idea as I was bored and shy and I’m on my gap year, so why not?
Instead of doing 30 things in 30 days, I altered it so I’d complete it sometime in my gap year or in the near future. My aim is to keep adding to it as my life goes along.
My Seek Discomfort List:
-Get a piercing (belly button)
-Make a new friend
-Go skydiving
-Travel somewhere solo
-Swim in cold water or skinny dip
-Sleep outside
-Mud runner
-Eat out alone
-Wear something that scares me
-Volunteer
-Go without Internet for 24 hours
-Go zip lining
-Get laser hair removal
-Do cupping
-Go horseriding
-Get a massage
-Ride a hot air balloon
-Do an aerobatic flight
I’ll let you know how they all go!!!
I love this idea Aisling! I think we all end up in a place that’s cross between content and complacent. I definitely get comfortable with things and go through phases where I don’t challenge myself. I’m now in a phase of putting myself out there, hence the start of my blog. I’m definitely curious about cupping. The bruises it leaves behind look terrible, but I know people who swear by it. I have always wanted to zipline, but the idea is super scary at the same time. I am really going to take this in and consider what other personal discomforts I want to challenge.
