How To Get To Zakopane?
How to get to Zakopane? To reach Zakopane, many travellers opt to fly into Kraków’s John Paul II International Airport, which is the nearest major airport located approximately 110 kilometres away.
From Kraków, one of the most convenient and scenic ways to reach Zakopane is by taking a bus, with several companies offering regular and affordable services from Kraków’s main bus station. We used Flixbuss, and it cost us £4 per person each way.
Alternatively, renting a car provides flexibility and allows travellers to enjoy the picturesque drive through the Polish countryside and foothills of the Tatra Mountains.
For those preferring rail travel, a direct train service is available from Kraków to Zakopane, which takes around three to four hours and offers a comfortable journey.
Regardless of the mode of transport chosen, it’s advisable to check the schedules and availability, especially during peak tourist seasons or winter months when road conditions can vary.
